KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff Tom Sheahan will see a slight increase in his duties next year.
Governor Janet Napolitano appointed Sheahan to the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board. The Arizona Sheriff's Association nominated Sheahan to the board. The board sets the statewide training standards for peace officers and corrections offices. It also oversees the recruitment, selection and retention of the officers.
"I'm very enthusiastic to get going at the beginning of the year," Sheahan said. "I think it will help us in the county for the various agencies to have a local representative on the board."
