KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Ara Jean Burgett, 39, of Kingman late Wednesday afternoon on outstanding warrants. At approximately 3:54 p.m., deputies responded to a suspicious call regarding two people entering a burnt-out residence located in the 4700 block of Leland Lane. Deputies contacted both subjects and a records check showed one of the subjects identified as Burgett to have a felony warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor warrant, both warrants issued by Kingman Justice Court. Burgett was taken into custody. She was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Stephen Harold Boyd, 45, of Kingman early Wednesday morning for aggravated driving under the influence, misdemeanor charges and a misdemeanor warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court. At about 1:30 a.m., deputies observed a Ford truck traveling north on Bank Street failing to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection of Bank Street and Gordon Drive, said MCSO Public Information Specialist Trish Carter.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop and contacted Boyd, the driver. Deputies smelled a heavy odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle, Carter said. Deputies had Boyd exit his truck and observed him swaying from side to side and he had to use the door to maintain his balance when existing the vehicle, Carter added. During conversations with Boyd, he allegedly admitted he'd been drinking. A records check revealed Boyd to have a suspended driver's license and an outstanding warrant. Following the field sobriety tests, Boyd was taken into custody. Boyd was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident where he advised deputies that he was unable to perform a breath test. A blood sample was taken from Boyd to be submitted to the Arizona Department of Public Safety Crime Lab for further analysis. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
KINGMAN - At about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Kingman Police arrested Jon Francis Dudek, 56, of Kingman for a felony warrant out of California for fraud.Dudek was the driver of a vehicle stopped in the 3000 block of Devlin Avenue for allegedly speeding, when it was found that he had the felony warrant. Dudek was booked into the Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - At about 2:05 p.m. on Monday, Kingman Police arrested John Chabasse Saffell, 50, of Kingman for aggravated assault and criminal damage. Police responded to a disturbance call in the 200 block of north Fourth Street. It was being reported that a male subject was swinging and threatening with a shovel. Upon arrival the officer found Saffell to be holding a shovel. Saffell appeared to be heavily intoxicated, KPD Sgt. Rusty Cooper said. The investigation revealed that Saffell became upset at a neighbor and threatened with a shovel, Cooper added. Saffell is alleged to have also caused damage to the neighbor's door with the shovel. Saffell was booked into the Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Delmar Harland Sutton III, 32, of Kingman early Monday morning for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor and a misdemeanor warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court.At approximately 2 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2300 block of Thompson Avenue and contacted Sutton, the driver. A records check showed Sutton to have a suspended license and an outstanding warrant. Sutton was taken into custody without incident. Deputies questioned Sutton about having anything illegal and Sutton allegedly advised that he had marijuana and a pipe in his pockets. Deputies located a plastic bag allegedly containing marijuana and a pipe with burnt residue. Sutton was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
OATMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies investigated a traffic accident that occurred on Oatman Highway at milepost 34, late Saturday afternoon. At about 4:48 p.m., deputies responded to the scene of an accident approximately 15 miles east of Oatman where the driver of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle allegedly struck a Honda sports utility vehicle as the Honda was making a left turn. Investigations determined that the motorcycle was traveling east behind the automobile and the motorcycle struck the vehicle as the automobile was making a left turn, said Public Information Specialist Trish Carter. Both the driver, later identified as Robert Raymond Hunsaker, 31, of Kingman and the motorcycle went down after hitting the vehicle. Guardian Air transported Hunsaker to University Medical Center in Las Vegas. The uninjured driver of the automobile is identified as Dale Stevenson from Wasilla, Arkansas. Alcohol along with speed may have been a factor. The accident remains under investigation, Carter said.
WIKIEUP - Mohave County Sheriff's Search and Rescue units were deployed early Saturday afternoon to Burro Creek, outside of Wikieup, in reference to a stranded person. Thomas McGarry, 54, of Springville, Utah, was self-reporting via a cellular telephone that he had become stranded when his truck became struck while he was attempting to cross Burro Creek. At approximately 12:17 p.m., Search and Rescue units along with the Department of Public Safety Air Rescue helicopter responded and located McGarry a short time later. McGarry was taken to Wikieup in good condition.
