Benjamin "Hap" D. Shelden, 79, of Dolan Springs passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008.
Hap was born March 10, 1928, in Nebraska. He lived in Dolan Springs for three years. He was a long-time resident of San Bernardino, Calif.
Hap retired from Caltrans. He loved his garden, using his tractor and helping others.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Maggie. Hap had six loving children; four daughters and two sons, Jean Shelden of San Bernardino, Dennis (Judy) of Dolan Springs, Barbara Blake of San Bernardo, Billy Shelden of Dolan Springs, Frances (Robert) Shelden of Winston, N.M., and Joy (Doug) Taylor of Lake Havasu City.
He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, with one on the way, and several nieces and nephews.
Hap was cremated at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life took place on Sunday, Feb. 17, at his home in Dolan Springs.
