Gerald "Jerry" R. Haynes, 85, of Kingman died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at his home in Kingman. He was born April 2, 1922, in Blair, Neb., and came to the Kingman area 70 years ago from Blair.
Jerry graduated from Mohave Union High School in 1940 and went on to work in, among other fields, heavy equipment operations and mining. He owned and operated G.R. Haynes Bulldozing, Mining and Drilling in Kingman for more than 50 years. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge.
Jerry is survived by his granddaughter, Tracy (Terry) Vandeman; his grandson, Brad (Anna) Shuffler; and two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Brady Shuffler, all of Kingman. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia, in 2005 and their only child, Terry Shuffler, in 2003.The service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Heart Association or the Mohave County Museum.
