Suspect in Downey Savings robbery arrested in Las Vegas

A North Carolina man suspected of robbing Downey Savings and Loan in Kingman was arrested in Las Vegas.

On Thursday, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department arrested Brandon Loy Steinberg, 33, on drug paraphernalia charges, Kingman Police Sgt. Rusty Cooper said in an e-mail.

"Las Vegas Metro Police detectives obtained information that linked Steinberg to the January 10 robbery of the Downey Savings and Loan in Kingman," Cooper said.

The information linking Steinberg to the robbery is not being released at this time, Cooper added.

When alerted of Steinberg's arrest, KPD detectives traveled to Las Vegas. They charged Steinberg with robbery using a felony warrant issued by the Mohave County Attorney's Office.

Steinberg is in the Clark County, Nev., jail. He had a felony hearing regarding extradition to Mohave County on Tuesday morning.

Around 11:10 a.m. on Jan. 10, Steinberg allegedly robbed Downey Savings and Loan, 3240 Stockton Hill Road, on Thursday. He allegedly left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and no was recovered during his arrest.
