Mavis W. Fitzsimmons, 81, of Kingman passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Kingman Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 21, 1926, in Solon Springs, Wis., and came to Kingman 30 years ago from St. Charles, Ill.
As a young woman, she moved to Illinois where she met Robert C. Fitzsimmons. They were married in 1946. She was the proud mother of seven children she loved very much.
She moved to Arizona in 1978 after years of service with the U.S. Post Office.
For 23 years, she worked as a unit coordinator of the Emergency Room at Kingman Regional Medical Center, where she had many wonderful friends.
Mavis is survived by three sons, Robert Fitzsimmons Jr. of Kingman, Joe Fitzsimmons of Wisconsin and Tom Fitzsimmons of Illinois; three daughters, Pamela Griveskis of Kingman, Kitty Gehl of Kingman and Mary Dodd of Florida; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Fitzsimmons Sr.; her brothers, Jim and John Armitage; and her beloved daughter, Kimberley Jane Mueller.
Mavis was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and we will miss her forever.
Private family services are planned. Sutton Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
