Barbara J. Horton, born Aug. 3, 1935, died Friday, July 4, 2008.
She is survived by her brother, H. Wayne Smith of Redondo Beach, Calif.; two children, F. Lee Horton of Downey, Calif., and Nancy Wright of Kingman; seven grandchildren, Jannifer V. Mendoza of Phoenix, Annete J. Horton of Downey, Melissa Horton of Downey, U. Sam Horton of Downey, Kenny L. Wright of Kingman, Krystal L. Roley of Altamont, Ill., and Robert M. Wright of Altamont. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, three boys and three girls.
Barbara worked for McCulloch Corporation for more than 30 years. She started out in inventory control in Los Angeles. She made a few suggestions that saved the company money and won suggestion of the month a few times. She soon became the third woman supervisor for McCulloch. She then moved with McCulloch to Lake Havasu City then Tucson. She was soon promoted to engineer.
When she retired, she moved to Whittier, Calif., and soon became active in the church. Barbara joined many groups (NAIM). She helped many and made very close friends.
About four years ago, she wanted a change, so she moved to Kingman to be with her daughter.
Barbara enjoyed going places, traveling, people, friends and family. She never was a person to let the grass grow under her feet.
She will be dearly missed.
