As a parent and a member of this community, I am both shocked and surprised at the Kingman Daily Miner.
On Sunday, they printed a picture of our Kingman High School seniors who have enlisted in the military. The picture was printed in black and white, (you could hardly make out the faces). It was put on Page 2A of the newspaper. What happened to honoring these brave men and women who are going to fight for out freedom? Some of these soldiers who have grown up in Kingman will never return. Maybe you could have thanked them in advance for their upcoming sacrifices and at least printed the picture in color and on the front page.
I did notice you printed a picture of the choir at the Kingman Academy of Learning graduation on the front page and in color. Don't get me wrong, I think the graduating class at KAOL also deserves this, but more that our enlisted men and women?
You also printed in color and on the front page a picture of Kingman's first residential electric generating wind turbine in the same issue. Also, on page 3A there was a color picture of a birdbath.
Now, I am not sure who makes these decisions on who and where and what color the pictures are that are printed in the newspaper, but come on. Whoever makes these decisions, in my opinion, is not proud of our military.
I personally would like to thank all the graduating seniors who have enlisted and are going to fight for out country. Even though the Kingman Daily Miner does not think you deserve the front page and in color, I certainly do!
