KINGMAN - Mohave County 4-H members participated in their Annual 4-H Demonstration Day held May 10 at the Mohave County Agriculture Center.
Approximately 50 spectators watched as 4-H members presented demonstrations on various subjects. A demonstration is showing someone else how to do something. It can be as easy as showing how to thread a needle or as complicated as giving an illustrated talk on the different birthing positions of baby animals and how to help in each delivery. Judging this year's demonstrations were Kurt Russell and Howard Noble.
This year's demonstrations ranged in topics from "Fillet That Cat Fish," "How to Retrieve and Hold A Poultry" to "How to Groom a Tortoise."
Top placing Senior Member, 14 and over, was Brianna Smith, age 18, of the Cactus Critters 4-H Club, with her demonstration on, "How to Be A Super Showman".
Top Placing Junior Member under 14 was Rebekah Russell, 12, of the Cedar Hills 4-H Club, with her demonstration on "Fillet That Catfish."
Other participating members who received Blue Ribbons for their demonstrations were: Ashley Goff, 9, of Cactus Critters 4-H Club with her demonstration on "How to Clean a Cavy"; Liz Merrett, 12, of Cactus Critters 4-H Club with her demonstration on "How to Get Your Dog to Sit"; Julisa Smith, 9, of Cactus Critters 4-H Club with her demonstration on "Gear, Goods & Gadgets"; Matthias Pruett, 13, of Calvary Rancher's 4-H Club with his demonstration on "How to Make a Pack Saddle"; and Darrick Barnett, 14, of Cedar Hill's 4-H Club with his demonstration on "How to Groom a Tortoise."
Other members giving demonstrations were: Stefeni Merrett, of Cactus Critters; Benjamin Smith of Cactus Critters; Broc Loftus of Cedar Hills; Cheyenne Loftus of Cedar Hills; Jessica Valenzuela of Calvary Ranchers; Brandon Cory of Calvary Ranchers; Kattile Carr of Calvary Ranchers; Nikkolaus Carr of Calvary Ranchers; Katherine Simon of Calvary Ranchers; Jessica Robinson of Calvary Ranchers; Andrea Simon of Calvary Ranchers; and Lianne Carr of Calvary Ranchers.
