KINGMAN - A Phoenix-based check-cashing and title loan company has chosen Kingman as the site of its first expansion outside the Phoenix area.
1 Stop Check Cashing, Payday and Title Loans plans to open its doors this August at its new location, 3505 Stockton Hill Road, No. 160.
1 Stop will offer Kingman a variety of financial services including payroll advances, auto title loans, check cashing, bill pay services, Western Union wire transfers, money orders and pre-paid debit cards.
The store will also double as an alternative to the Motor Vehicle Division for most of its functions. 1 Stop's motor vehicle side will offer tag, title and registration services - essentially everything the MVD does, short of providing driver's licenses, though according to Marketing Director Angel Madrid, that, too may be available eventually.
"We're working on it," she said. "It's a thing we're looking into the state letting us do. You can get a new plate if you need to there, you can pretty much do everything except get that darn driver's license."
1 Stop's check cashing and title loan side will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Madrid said the motor vehicle side would likely have shorter hours, at least to start.
The business expects to hire a staff of between four and six for its opening, with additional hires as needed. 1 Stop is looking to hire title and registration processors, managers, assistant managers and customer service representatives.
Madrid will be in town conducting open interviews from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 29 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 30 at Cerbat Lanes Bowling Alley, 3631 Stockton Hill Road. Cash handling, sales or retail experience is a plus, she said.
