Paul Michael Tibbets Jr., our dad, grandpa, brother and friend, passed away while on a trip to Israel. Paul Tibbets passed away on Feb. 29, 2008, while accompanied by his eldest son, Mike, and dear friend, Ruth. Paul was born Dec. 12, 1923, in Carizozzo, N.M., and lived in different cities in New Mexico, Arizona and California. Paul was a veteran of WWII, having served honorably in the Navy. Upon discharge in 1946, Paul returned to Kingman where he married Alberta (Jones) and they began a life together that included five children, Mike Tibbets, Rene Green, Molly Fossett, Gayle Auld and Stuart Tibbets; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alberta.
Paul worked for more than 30 years for Claypool Company in Blythe, Calif., and Mohave Valley. His greatest pleasure was to be at home and to spend time with family. We will miss him, but we are comforted knowing that he received Jesus as his Lord and is now at home forever.
Services to honor his life will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, at Bermuda City Community Center.
