Edward Gittings Thomas died Feb. 20, 2008. He was born Dec. 23, 1917, in Johnstown, Pa. His wife, Margaret E. Thomas, succumbed Jan. 4, 2006. He is survived by two nieces, Kathleen Yochim of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Nancy Pierce of Hilo, Hawaii.
Thomas was a life member of Kingman Elks Lodge, a 32nd-degree Mason, a member of Kingman's Free and Accepted Mason Lodge 22 and Glendora's Masonic Lodge 404. He was a member and past president of Kingman's Masonic High Twelve Club 612.
Thomas was a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College of Pennsylvania and was employed as a chief chemist for several large companies as well as being a registered quality engineer in the state of California.
Funeral memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, at St. Johns United Methodist Church, 1730 Kino Ave., with the Rev. Michael Bryant officiating. Thomas will be cremated and buried in the Pomona Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum, where his wife is interred. The burial preparation will be handled by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorial gifts be given in Edward's name to the St. Johns United Methodist Church, his church home.
