Sheriff's deputies catches Kingman man on felony unlawful flight charges

KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Ray William Laris, 24, of Kingman around 6:30 p.m. on April 29 for felony unlawful flight from law enforcement and two misdemeanor warrants issued by the Kingman Justice Court. According to MCSO, around 3:45 p.m., deputies spotted a brown and white truck traveling around 61 mph in a 35 mph zone on Diagonal Way. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but it continued without stopping. It eventually stopped in the middle of Norrie Drive near Butler Avenue, where the driver jumped out of the vehicle and began running north through vacant lots. Deputies later identified the driver as Laris. Later that evening, Kingman Police officers located Laris at a business in the 3300 block of East Andy Devine Avenue. Deputies contacted Laris, and according to MCSO, he admitted to running from deputies earlier in the day. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.
