Reward offered in vehicle thefts

KINGMAN - A $1,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the thefts and criminal damage in the Hualapai Mountains.

Sometime between 12:30 and 10:30 a.m. on April 26, five vehicles were stolen from a residential area and were later recovered after the vehicles were stranded, a Mohave County Sheriff's Office release stated.

"One of the vehicles struck a large tree near Hualapai Mountain Road and Crumb Road," said Trish Carter, MCSO public information specialist. "Another vehicle was stuck on a hill on large rocks in the Hualapai Mountain Park.

"All of the vehicles were recovered after they were inoperable and abandoned," Carter added. "Also, hand and power tools were stolen and recovered in one of the vehicles."

The MCSO is asking the public's assistance for information regarding vehicle thefts and criminal damage. If anyone has any information, they are advised to contact the Detectives Division at (928) 753-0753 or Silent Witness at (888) 227-8780.
