Weather report: high 90s, then low 70s

KINGMAN - The early taste of summer might include triple digits today - but it's not going to last.

The mid-May heat wave and the stretch of 90-plus degree weather is forecast to get even higher, with the National Weather Service issuing an "excessive heat watch" through today. The watch is in place not because it's seldom this hot in Kingman. Rather, the sudden heat presents a threat simply because no one this side of Bullhead City has become acclimated to it this early in the season.

As noted, though, a cooling trend is also in the forecast.

According to the NWS, Tuesday's high will again be in the high 90s, followed by the high 80s on Wednesday and the low 70s by Thursday.
