Charles Harold Lee Sr. passed away on Monday, May 19, 2008, in Kingman at the age of 71. Charles was born in Seminole, Okla., on Dec. 30, 1936, and was the oldest child born to Harold S. Lee and wife Mildred.
Chuck married Laverne Pellum in March 1957. The couple had three children, Charles Harold Lee Jr., Barbara Alverne and David Allen. The marriage dissolved a few years later. During the 1980s, Chuck met and married Anna Marie Wright, who preceded him in death in 2005.
For 28 years, Chuck worked at South Pasadena Unified School District. Since Chuck's father was also employed by a school district, Chuck grew up in school-provided housing and on the playground next door. He learned early to relate to school personnel and children and this background served him well.
Chuck spent his youth in Bassett, Calif. Upon his marriage to the mother of his children, he moved to Baldwin Park, Calif. He remained in that city until moving to Kingman in 1989. In Kingman, he was active in the VFW and Moose Lodge No. 1594. Chuck loved country music, dancing and traveling.
Chuck is survived by his mother, Mildred Clark; son, Charles; sister, Margie; special friend, Flo; granddaughters, Kayla and Robin; grandsons, David, Erick, Matthew and Bobby. Memorial service will be held Friday, May 23, at the Moose Lodge from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kingman Animal Shelter.
