The Committee for Women Making History is preparing for its Silver Anniversary of the Annual Women Making History Awards Ceremony at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, at the Mohave Museum of History and Arts. "Women Taking the Lead to Save Our Planet" is the 2009 theme for National Women's History Month. The committee works in conjunction with the National Women's History Month project, which focuses on the rich and inspiring heritage of women's contributions in the United States. In the Kingman and outlying areas, women are honored in several categories. Nomination forms will soon be available at the Mohave County Library, Mohave Community College, Chamber of Commerce and Mohave Museum of History and Arts. The deadline for submitting nomination forms is Jan. 16. To contact the committee, call Brenda at 681-3344, ext. 231.
