One killed when bus, truck collide

KINGMAN - An 18-year-old Golden Valley man was killed in a motor vehicle accident Monday morning.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Casey Dewayne Wood, 18, of Golden Valley was pulling out of the Black Mountain School parking lot onto Highway 68 when his truck was struck by a westbound school bus driven by Peggy Sue Guillot, 34, of Kingman.

Guillot had one adult passenger on the bus with her when the accident happened at about 7:30 a.m. No students were on the bus.

Despite wearing his safety belt, Wood died of injuries at the scene. Golden Valley Fire Department personnel who responded to the scene had to use extrication tools to get to Wood.

Guillot and her passenger, who was not identified by DPS, were taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center for the treatment of minor injuries. They both were later released from the hospital.

The GVFD responded with two engines, a command officer and an ambulance to the accident.

DPS is investigating the accident.
