KINGMAN - The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating a motorcycle accident that injured a couple Tuesday evening on I-40 west of Kingman near milepost 47. At 6:15 p.m., DPS officers and Kingman Fire Department responded to a report of a single-vehicle injury accident. Firefighters found the driver, Kenneth Arnaudin and passenger, Anna Arnaudin, both 49 and both from Golden Valley, in the median. DPS believes the couple were traveling westbound on I-40 when for unknown reasons, the motorcycle entered the median and struck a delineator. The motorcycle overturned and ejected the pair. KFD treated Anna Arnaudin for possible head and neck injuries before taking her to Kingman Regional Medical Center. River Medical treated Kenneth Arnaudin before taking him to KRMC. Both later were flown to a hospital in Las Vegas. According to DPS, both victims were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. The accident is under investigation.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Phillip H. Strong, 45, of Kingman, Wednesday evening on suspicion of felony aggravated assault, adult on minor. At 7:10 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 3600 block of Canary Lane. On arrival, deputies contacted the reporting party, who said Strong, her ex-boyfriend, pushed her and her 11-year-old son before he left the residence. Deputies contacted the 11-year-old, who said he heard Strong arguing with his mother, and as he entered the room, Strong pushed him to the ground. As deputies were speaking with the boy, Strong drove by the residence in a van. Deputies contacted him at the intersection of Diagonal Way and U.S. Route 66. They took Strong into custody and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
KINGMAN - A North Las Vegas, Nev., woman died in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident Oct. 12 on Interstate 40. At noon, AZDPS officers responded to a single-vehicle injury collision involving a motorcycle at milepost 88.4 on Interstate 40 about 34 miles east of Kingman. Lois Meuir, 49, died in the crash. Meuir was driving her Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on Interstate 40 when she failed to negotiate a curve. She lost control and was ejected. She died on the scene as a result of her injuries. Her husband, James Meuir, was riding a separate motorcycle and was not involved in the collision. The victim was wearing her helmet.
