Anointing of the Sick will be held on First Friday, September 5th, at St. Mary Church. Anointing of the Sick is available to practicing Catholics, ages 65 or over, or to those who are seriously ill. The Sacrament will be administered during the 8 AM and 6 PM Mass on this date. Also, Confessions will be heard from 5 PM to 5:45 PM prior to the 6 PM Mass.
A First Saturday devotional Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated at 9 AM on Saturday, September 6th, at St. Mary Church in Kingman.
There will be a meeting of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Lectors, Greeters and Ushers on Saturday, September 6th, at 11 AM at the Church. A planning meeting for the October Parish Picnic will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 6th, at the Parish Center. Meal Tickets for the Picnic will be sold after all weekend Masses. Also, Prize Drawing Tickets for the many beautiful Gift Baskets ($1.00 Ticket or 6/$5.00) will be sold. The Grand Prize this year is a 1988 Lincoln Town Car in mint condition! The tickets for this special Grand Prize are $10.00 each. Tickets for the car may be purchased after Masses as noted, or by calling Jerry Carreiro at 757-4193. Such a deal!!!

An Altar Server meeting for both current and prospective Altar Servers will be held on Saturday, September 13th, from 10 AM to 12 Noon at the Church. Boys, girls, men and women are needed to serve the Lord at His Altar at Mass. For more information, call Grace McNair at the Parish Center.
The Holy Father has proclaimed this the Year of St. Paul. A special three-part DVD presentation on the life, ministry and suffering of St. Paul will be presented at St. Mary Parish Center, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM on the following dates: September 14th ; September 21st ; and September 28th. One segment of the three-part program will be presented each of the Sundays. There is NO CHARGE to attend this fast-paced, energetic biography, travel documentary, Bible study, apologetics and Church history study, all rolled into one remarkable adventure. The St. Vincent de Paul Society is requesting donations of clean, gently-used children's clothing. The demand for children's clothing suitable for school has been tremendous. If you can help, please bring your donated clothing to the St. Vincent Thrift Store, 218 E. Beale, from 9 AM to 3 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays. NOTE: If you have children's coats or jackets, please drop them off at Andy's Cleaners (see "Fall Coat Drive" item). Many thanks!!!
You can warm the hearts of those in need through the support of the Fall Coat Drive! The Optimist Club, in cooperation with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Andy's Cleaners, is again requesting your donation of new or gently-used coats or jackets. Children's coats and jackets are especially needed. The collection of coats and jackets will be held during the entire month of September. Please drop off the coats and jackets at Andy's Cleaners, 2601 Stockton Hill Road. There is NO CHARGE to individuals dropping off donated coats and jackets. Note - coats and jackets ONLY, please. Each year, Andy's cleaners donates the cleaning and refurbishing of the coats for this charitable project. During October, the coats will be distributed FREE OF CHARGE to those in need by the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Watch for information on the date for the beginning of the coat distribution.
The Knights of Columbus council #3145 is chartering a Boy Scout Troop. The troop meets on Thursday evenings at 7 PM at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 2255 East Butler Avenue. Troop membership is open to all boys ages 12 through 18 years of age in the area regardless of which Church they attend. For information, contact the Parish Center.
