Diane T. Crawford was born Dec. 13, 1944, in Augusta, Maine. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Rita and Paul Parent of Watertown, Mass. Diane and Frank were married Aug. 28, 1965. They raised their family in New Boston, N.H., from 1976 to 1992. They have lived in Kingman for 14 years.
Diane was a skilled bookkeeper who volunteered helping the elderly with taxes for many years. In 1999, she became a certified nurse assistant and worked at the local hospital and at Dr. Matthew's office. She also volunteered her services helping several people through the hospice process in their homes.
A devout Christian, Diane was saved in 1979. Always a giver, she was treasurer of her church, Calvary Baptist, for 13 years, and was also active in the ladies' L.O.V.E. charitable group. Diane was a very talented and creative craftsperson and enjoyed beading and quilting. She has made dozens of quilts and afghans for friends, relatives and all 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Diane passed away peacefully in her sleep at age 63 on July 31, 2008, after battling several illnesses. She leaves her beloved husband of 43 years, Frank B. Crawford of Kingman; daughter, Wendy and husband Luther Farley of Brownville, Maine; son, George and wife Amy Sue Crawford of Kingman; sister-in-law, Nancy and husband Rice Honeywell of Surry, B.C., Canada. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The memorial service was held Aug. 23.
