Donna Robinson holds up some rocks and minerals last Tuesday evening during a meeting of the Mohave County Gemstoners at the Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center on Airway Avenue. The club, which has existed since at least the 1960s, meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month in the Adult Center. Meetings begin with a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. in March, June, September and December. Members learn and share about various subjects concerning minerals, gemstones and fossils. This includes the cutting and displaying of rocks and gems, how to do jewelry and metalsmithing, and field trips to find specimens. The Gemstoners are also presenting "Introduction to Geology" educational videos at the Mohave County Library- Kingman. The next showing will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The public is welcome to attend. For more information on the Gemstoners or to join, call Nan Russell at 928-846-0927.
