Lions, class hold used glasses drive

KINGMAN - The second-grade accelerated class at Manzanita Elementary and the Kingman Mohave Lions Club are teaming up to hold an eye glasses drive.

Beginning Monday, the students of Michelle Burkes' class will collect used glasses for the less fortunate.

"We're all really excited about doing this because we are learning about community and how to support it," Burkes said.

The drive will continue for two weeks, and class plans on hosting the drive again for two weeks during the spring semester, Burkes said.

Lions District Governor Rand Terwilleger with Lions members Josh Noble and Jim Mayberry addressed the class on Tuesday regarding the history of the club and the program.

"It's a great thing you're involved in," Mayberry said. "We're just thrilled that you're doing this."
