Milford 'Cowboy' Chaffin

Milford Chaffin passed away in his home on Friday, Sept. 12, 2008. Cowboy was born July 20, 1925, in Selegirt, Ala. He moved to Kingman in 1951. He was a retired grading operator for Mohave County Road Department.

Cowboy was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sister and his grandson, Brandon Balch.

He is survived by nine children: Linda Stanford, Allen Chaffin and Vivian Hadley of Kingman, Diana Johnson Barrett of Payson, Ariz., Carol Braun of Torrence, Calif., Janice Patten of Beaverton, Ore., Jodie Wilson of Portland, Ore., Richard Samson of Joplin, Mo., and Rhonda Downey of Chehalis, Wash. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their children.

Cowboy wanted to help others and arranged for his body to be donated for science. A small gathering by family remembered his life the day after. If you want to remember Cowboy, in lieu of flowers or money, please donate to your favorite charity in his name.
