Members of the Valle Vista Property Owners Association protest outside the Valle Vista Clubhouse Friday evening, just prior to the annual meeting of the association's board of directors. Group organizer and former board member Tom Thorsen said residents were protesting the actions of four current board members who were elected last year following their collective purchase of more than 600 parcels of land in the association - each parcel carries the right to one vote. Thorsen accused board members over the past year of having failed to present regular financial statements to association members, misspending association funds, abolishing a number of community committees and altering the minutes of the prior year's board meeting to artificially extend the term limits of two board members. "We've had a watchdog group since these people took office," Thorsen said. "Everybody out here's fed up with what's gone on and what's happening."
