KINGMAN - A Kingman man pleaded guilty to attempted molestation of a child Monday.

Earl D. Christian, 38, of Kingman was orginially charged with one count of felony molestation of a child. He accepted a plea agreement Monday and pleaded guilty to attempted molestation of a child, pursuant to an Alfred plea.

An Alfred plea is similar to a no-contest plea. The defendant admits to the facts of the case but does not admit to his guilt in the crime. The court, however, treats it as a guilty plea and conviction. According to deal, Christian will face a lifetime of probation and up to a year in jail. He will have to register as a sex offender and wear a GPS tracking device.

Christian was arrested in February 2008 for allegedly molesting a child under the age of 15 after he fell asleep in the child's bed.

His sentencing hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. on May 13.
