Barbara Jean Hummel of Kingman, born in Santa Cruz, Calif., Dec. 6, 1935, passed away peacefully and went to heaven on Monday, July 27, 2009.
Barbara was retired from her job at the Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino as personnel and restaurant manager, where she was admired by hundreds of employees and thousands of patrons.
She loved spending time working in her garden and was a creative crafter. Barbara was a chef for many years, serving people her incredible and award-winning food creations. Camping and fishing at the river and lakes with her husband, Bill, and their loving dog, Buster, was a favorite pastime.
She selflessly raised and cared for her siblings, and everyone who knew her enjoyed her positive outlook and sense of humor. Her home was always a warm and cozy place to be; birthdays and holidays were always recognized in style with decorations and celebration.
Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years, William H. Hummel; dog, Buster; her beloved daughters, Suzzee Toon of Wilmington, N.C., and Donna Robertson of Billings, Mont.; son, John Puglia of North Hollywood, Calif.; siblings, Patty Powell of Las Vegas, Tommy Powell and Fred Phillips; sister-in-law and husband, Linda and Gary Super; and her four adoring and greatly loved grandchildren, Ashley, Skylar, Matt and Johnny.
