I can't believe it is August already. Boy does time sure fly. Soon, the children of Valle Vista will be back at school, so be prepared to watch out for the school buses here.
There are two golf tournaments coming up here this month. The first one will be the Back to School Mixer on Saturday. This tournament will help provide backpacks and school supplies for needy children in conjunction with KAPP.
The format will be a two-person scramble with 7:30 a.m. sign-in and 8:30 tee time. The entry fee will be a backpack plus $10 for members. Nonmembers will be charged $25 for golf plus the backpack and $10. Let's all get out and support this worthy cause.
On Aug. 13, there will be a tournament to benefit the Allison family. This tournament will be a four-person scramble - pick your own team. For more information, please call the Pro Shop.
Like many, Valle Vista is suffering a sever financial crisis at this time and everything possible is being done to keep us afloat. One thing being done here is much of the work we would normally have to pay for is being done by volunteers.
Everyone appreciates what they are doing, and when you see someone volunteering, please take a moment to thank them.
Anyone interested in joining the other volunteers please contact the POA office or any board member.
I would like to name the volunteers but do not want to leave anyone out, so instead, a great big thank you to all the volunteers.
The Turn Restaurant is now under new management and will be having a fish fry every Friday. Fish and chips with coleslaw will be available every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Then they will offer all-you-can-eat fish from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m with one trip to soup and salad bar.
The rest of the week the restaurant will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for breakfast and lunch.
Mark you calendars for the annual Ice Cream Social on Sunday, Aug. 16, at the Clubhouse.
