Book sale starts Friday

KINGMAN - The Friends of the Kingman Public Library Holiday Book Sale is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the library program room, 3269 Burbank St. A preview sale for members is from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

New and like-new books of all genres as well as audios and videos will be available.

Proceeds benefit the Kingman library.

Santa plans Friday visit

KINGMAN - Santa Claus will make a guest appearance on behalf of the Kingman Food Bank and Toys for Tots from 4-9 p.m. Friday at Keller Williams Arizona Living, 2501 Stockton Hill Road, Suite 108.

The public is invited to bring their cameras to take pictures of their children with Santa and also asked to bring a can or food for the food bank and/or an unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots program. Call Jan Yarush at (928) 718-6211 for more information.

Christmas concert Saturday

KINGMAN - The Mohave Community Orchestra's annual Holiday Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the White Cliffs Middle School auditorium.

Selections from the Handel's "Messiah" and Tchaikowsky's "Nutcracker," as well as a musical rendition of Clement Moore's "A Visit from St. Nicholas" narrated by Kingman High choir and drama teacher Harry Schuerer will be performed. The orchestra is made up of local professional and amateur musicians and is conducted by Art Swanson and Tom Boone. Call (928) 753-3902 for more information.

Wilson signs her books Saturday

KINGMAN - Author Dianne Finnegan Wilson will sign her new book, "Finding the Flowers in a Prickly World - 366 Earthly Devotions for a Heavenly Ascent," from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Hastings, 3153 Stockton Hill Road. The author also will sign copies of "Out of the Desert Softly - Practical Devotions for an Impractical World."

Christmas story this weekend

KINGMAN - First Southern Baptist Church, 3120 Hualapai Mountain Road, offers a walk-through tour of the story of Christmas from 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Those who attend can pet live animals, visit with the shepherds and watch wise men at Herod's palace. Call (928) 753-3238 for more information.
