Mohave 911: Thursday, December 24, 2009

KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Stephen Harold Boyd, 47, of Yucca Thursday evening for felony aggravated DUI. Deputies conducted a traffic stop westbound on Interstate 40 at milepost 48 around 8 p.m. and contacted Boyd, the driver. Deputies requested Boyd's driver's license and Boyd advised that his license was suspended for failure to pay child support. Deputies smelled an odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. Boyd allegedly admitted to having one beer earlier. A records check confirmed Boyd to have a suspended driver's license for prior DUIs. Boyd refused to perform the field sobriety tests as requested by deputies. He was arrested and transported to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, where he also refused to submit to a breath analysis. A blood sample was taken to be submitted to the DPS Crime Lab for further analysis. Boyd was booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
