KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies and Arizona Department of Public Safety officers nabbed a Huntington Beach, Calif., man less than 30 minutes after he tried to rob a Golden Valley store Thursday afternoon.
At 2:30 p.m., MCSO received a call of an attempted robbery of a convenience store in the 6700 block of Highway 68, said MCSO Public Information Officer Trish Carter.
James Christopher Lobnow, 29, allegedly walked into the store and demanded money from the clerk, Carter said. The clerk was able to convince Lobnow to leave the store without any money.
Lobnow, who was not armed, left the store. A MCSO K-9 unit, four deputies and two detectives along with a number of DPS officers were dispatched to the area.
A DPS officer found Lobnow around 3 p.m. hiding in an area about a half mile from the store, Carter said.
