The Women Making History committee met with Kingman Mayor John Salem as the mayor signed a proclamation declaring March as "Women's History Month" and specifically Sunday, March 1, as "Women Making History Day." National Women's History Month sets aside the month of March every year to recognize and celebrate the lives of countless women of all races, ages, cultures, ethnic traditions, religious faiths and ways of life. The 25th annual awards ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on March 1 at the Mohave Museum of History and Arts. Local women will be honored for their contributions to the community in a variety of areas, such as the arts, business, education, pioneering, professions, public service, religion and volunteering.
