KINGMAN - A suspected shoplifter was arrested on a warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia, Kingman Police reported. At 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, Kingman Police arrested Devin Lewis Stuart, 21, of Kingman on a felony warrant for failure to appear issued by Mohave Superior Court. Stuart had been detained for suspicion of shoplifting at a store in the 3400 block of Stockton Hill Road, according to a news release. "Stuart was additionally found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia," the release stated. Stuart was booked into the Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - A Kingman man was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at a city park. At about 1:40 p.m. on Saturday, Kingman Police arrested Curtis Weston Mills, 20, of Kingman at Canyon Shadows Park in the 700 block of Crestwood Avenue. Officers discovered three men at the park had been smoking marijuana, according to a KPD release. "Mills was found to be in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia," the release stated. While Mills was charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, the other two Kingman men, age 18 and 21, were charged with misdemeanor use of marijuana. Mills was booked into the Mohave County Jail.
OATMAN - A failed turn led to a minor injury accident when a Golden Valley man ran into a large pile of rocks. At approximately 1:03 p.m. on Saturday, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies responded to milepost 32 on Highway 66 to a single-vehicle accident involving Bryan David Krueger, 44, of Golden Valley. Investigations determined a 1995 Pontiac vehicle was traveling eastbound on the highway and the driver failed to negotiate a curve, heading off the right side of the road. The vehicle traveled approximately 200 feet and came to a rest in a large pile of rocks, a news release stated. Krueger was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center by ambulance. This accident remains under investigation. Alcohol may be a factor, the release stated. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
YUCCA - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies recovered nearly $4,500 in reported stolen items from a residence. Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Adam Yancey Johnson, 28, and Levina Valarie Cummiskey, 51, both of Yucca on Saturday afternoon on 22 counts of possession of stolen property. At about 11 a.m., deputies contacted a 54-year-old male victim who reported that his residence had been burglarized and he had knowledge of where his stolen items were. Deputies followed the victim to his residence, approximately eight miles southwest of Santa Fe Ranch Road on Butch Cassidy Road. Deputies observed the rear door to the residence had been forcefully opened and the residence was empty. The victim reported nearly $4,500 of items were stolen. Deputies proceeded with the victim to a residence in the 19500 block of Lone Ranger in Yucca. The victim identified his items outside and inside the residence. During the investigations, deputies learned the three people at the residence had recently acquired items. While deputies were investigating, Johnson and Cummiskey arrived. During conversations with the two, they said that they purchased the furniture from a guy in Kingman. Deputies got consent to search the residence and many of the reported stolen items were inside. Johnson and Cummiskey were taken into custody without incident. They were transported and booked into the Mohave County District II substation.
KINGMAN - A Mohave County Sheriff's detention officer foiled an alleged attempt to bring in a marijuana cigarette by an inmate. Elizabeth Jeanne Wilcox, 34, of Kingman was arrested late Saturday afternoon on charges of taking contraband into corrections facility and possession of marijuana. At approximately 4:30 p.m., a detention officer reported that Wilcox came in for her court commit and she was in possession of a marijuana cigarette inside her pants pocket, a MCSO news release stated. During conversations with Wilcox, she told deputies the pants did not belong to her, they were her sister's. Wilcox was booked into the jail without incident.
GOLDEN VALLEY - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Ned Albert Haizlip, 80, of Golden Valley, Sunday afternoon on a felony failure to appear warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court on Dec. 19, 2007. At 1:30 p.m., deputies contacted Haizlip at a residence in the 3500 block of Houck Road regarding his outstanding warrant. Haizlip was taken into custody and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Thomas Mitchell Stisi Jr., 41, of Kingman Monday afternoon on suspicion of felony possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of a narcotic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. At 3:30 p.m., deputies contacted Stisi in the 3100 block of Devlin Avenue while conducting a traffic stop. While speaking with Stisi, deputies learned he had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants. Stisi was taken into custody without incident. A search of the vehicle revealed plastic bags containing a white powder, plastic bags containing marijuana, prescription medication wrapped in plastic, a digital scale and several small plastic bags, a release stated. Stisi denied the items belonged to him. He was booked into the Mohave County Jail.
