The regular monthly meeting of the Valle Vista Board of Directors will be Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Clubhouse. Please be sure to attend this meeting as there are many changes here in Valle Vista that property owners should be aware of.
Friday night's dinner this past week was a great success, and Valerie has scheduled another one for Feb. 20. Please be sure to make reservations if you plan to attend. It's great to see Friday night dinners back here in Valle Vista. Let's all support it.
Condolences go out to the family of Jack Ahsinger who recently passed away. Even though Jack wasn't a Valle Vista resident, he and the rest of the "Meadview gang" have been coming here weekly to play golf for many years. Jack will be missed.
Condolences also go out to Kim and Georgia Gaines and their family on the recent passing of Kim's mother.
There are many activities planned for the library this month. On Feb. 24 at noon, there will be a book discussion on "Life of Pi." Cheryl has copies of the book at the library now, so please pick one up and join in the discussion.
On Feb. 26 at 2:30 p.m., we will be making a "bath cookie" of soap and some milk bath to go along with it as we participate in "Milk and Cookies," the featured adult craft this month. There may be a change in time of the adult program beginning in March, so watch for that announcement.
Story Hour this month is on butterflies. Join us at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, for a butterfly craft, a book reading and refreshments.
The Friends of the Valle Vista Library will have a book and bake sale on April 18. If you have books, videos or audio books to donate, please bring them to the library and don't forget to mark your calendar for Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for an opportunity to get used books, videos and audio books to enjoy for your summer reading.
Free computer classes are available at the library on Thursday afternoons. Call for an appointment (692-5715) or leave your name and phone number at the library. Classes can be tailored to meet your specific needs.
