Katherine Mary Ahlers and Gabriel David Brown were united in marriage on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Grace Lutheran Church. Pastor Bill Phillips performed the ceremony.
The bride's parents are Thomas and Diane Ahlers of Kingman. The groom's parents are Christopher and Christine Brown of Sonoita.
Sandy Ahlers, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Rindy Ito, Emily Foreman and Rebecca Moore, sister of the groom. The flower girl and ring bearer were Caitlyn and Brandon Moore, niece and nephew of the groom. Nathan Brown, the best man, and groomsmen Tim and Daniel Brown are brothers of the groom. Robert Deets was also a groomsman. Ushers were Dan Duran and Ryan Whitaker, friends of the bride.
A reception at the Kingman Elks Lodge followed the ceremony after which the couple enjoyed a weeklong honeymoon in Kauai, Hawaii.
Katherine graduated from Kingman High School in 2002 and Northern Arizona University in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. She currently attends the University of Arizona in the Doctor of Audiology Program. She will graduate with her doctorate in May 2010.
Gabriel graduated from home school in 2002. He recently finished his enlistment with the U.S. Army EOD Unit at Fort Campbell, Ky., after completing a tour of duty in Iraq. He plans to attend college and pursue a degree in Criminal Justice.
The couple will reside in Tucson.
