The White Cliffs Middle School eighth-grade girls basketball team posted a 3-0 record at the Mohave Valley Junior High Bulldog Classic to take home the trophy on Jan. 30-31.

The Wolves opened the tournament with a 26-7 win over Kingman Middle School on Jan. 30 to advance to the semifinals.

The Wolves put away Lake Havasu City Daytona in a hard-fought 38-34 win to face the undefeated Needles, Calif., Lady Mustangs. The Wolves came out strong in the beginning of the game to take a commanding a lead. The Lady Mustangs could never recover, and WCMS won the crown.

The Wolves faced off with KMS again on Wednesday, and WCMS came away with a 27-10 win.

In seventh-grade girls action, it was WCMS squeaking past KMS, 37-34. KMS swept the boys games on Wednesday as the seventh-grade Bobcats won 46-21 and the eighth-grade team took down the Wolves, 40-29.

KAHS JV boys hoops

The Tigers jumped out to a 14-4 first-quarter lead against Golden Valley EAGLE Academy, and coasted from there to a 50-37 win. EAGLE came out scrappy against KAHS, but the Tigers kept their poise and kept control the entire game.

Josh Lohone led KAHS with nine points, making three 3-pointers. Jimmy Herrero and Cooper Kay scored eight, Alex Candelaria added seven, Emery Rogers six, Kevin DeMaio five, Jayson Hopson four and Daniel Rapissi had three for the Tigers.
