Mohave 911: Friday, February 20, 2009

KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Walter G. Barthel, 55, of Kingman, Monday afternoon for felony third-degree burglary - unlawful entry. At 12:11 p.m., deputies responded to a burglary in the area of Avienda El Camino and contacted a 52-year-old homeowner. The homeowner reported that he owns property in the 10000 block of Avienda Palms. When the homeowner arrived at his property, he noticed his gate was taken down, and as he pulled onto his property, he observed a red truck with his travel trailer hooked up to it. The homeowner said that he approached a male subject, who identified himself as Frank. Frank allegedly told the homeowner he thought the trailer was abandoned and he wanted to see if his truck could pull it. The homeowner told deputies that Frank unhooked the trailer from his truck and unloaded some property belonging to the homeowner from the bed of his truck before leaving the property. The homeowner followed Frank to a residence in the 10000 block of Avenida Viendo. Deputies responded to that residence and contacted Barthel, whom the homeowner identified as the man who allegedly attempted to take his property. Barthel was taken into custody and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
