MCC worker who died in accident an ex-Marine

KINGMAN - A family is mourning the life of a veteran. Tiburcio Fonseca Valenzuela, 73, was killed in an accident at Mohave Community College Tuesday afternoon.

Valenzuela was a custodian at the school and was working in the auto shop Tuesday afternoon when a piece of equipment fell and knocked him to the ground.

Crews from Northern Consolidated Fire District found him unresponsive and transported him to Kingman Regional Medical Center where he later died.

According to information from his family, Valenzuela was a former Marine sergeant and move to the Kingman area from Ajo, Ariz.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. with the Rosary at 6 p.m. on Friday at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave.

The service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 302 E. Spring St. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery, 1301 Stockton Hill Road, right after the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Valenzuela family at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.
