Kingman Republican Men's Club: The club held its June 15 meeting at the Elks Lodge. The featured speaker was Paul Perkins, manager of the Kingman Wal-Mart. Mr. Perkins brought a wealth of facts to the presentation and was open to answering all questions about the company in a spirited give-and-take. For the next meeting to be held at 11 a.m. on July 20 at the Elks Lodge, the guests will be our state representatives, Doris Goodale and Nancy McLain, as well as our state senator, Ron Gould. For Doris, this will be her first Kingman appearance since her election last year. Expected to be discussed is, of course, the state budget, financial issues, and the like, but the Men's Club always leaves time for questions and debate, and this will likely be no exception. Take note that our August meeting will be a barnburner. We will have Chris Simcox, the challenger to John McCain in 2010. It will be his first time in Kingman, and interest in his appearance is intense. Due to the special nature of this meeting, the general public will be invited. Look for details in the next few weeks. For those interested in becoming part of the grassroots group, the Men's Club meets from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. the third Monday of every month at the Elks Lodge, 900 Gates Ave. For further information, call Dr. Schiff at (928) 530-3637.
