KINGMAN - Sanjeev Gopal, MD, was recently hired as the medical director of Oncology Services at the Kingman Regional Medical Center's Cancer Center.
As a board certified medical oncologist/hematologist, he is highly experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of cancers and blood disorders. He will meet a vital need in the Kingman community by serving patients at the KRMC Cancer Center.
Gopal attended medical school at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. He completed an internship in internal medicine at the State University of New York at Syracuse and residency in internal medicine at State University of New York at Brooklyn. He then did two clinical fellowships in medical oncology and bone marrow transplant at the University of Texas, Medical Branch at Galveston. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in medical oncology and internal medicine.
He has more than 10 years' experience providing skilled care to patients with a variety of cancers. Most recently, he was the clinical director and medical oncologist/hematologist at Sierra Vista Cancer Center in Sierra Vista.
With his expertise and experience in treating cancer patients, Gopal uses the most advanced medicine possible to fight the disease. But, he adds, "Good cancer care also involves addressing the patient's emotional and other support needs."
Gopal says he loves Arizona and is happy to now experience living in the northern part of the state. He enjoys reading, traveling and golf. He is also interested in airplanes and plans to take flying lessons.
