KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Thomas Andrew Paine, 49, of Kingman Saturday for felony possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Deputies observed a vehicle swerving and turned their patrol unit around and caught up with it. Deputies observed a reflective object was thrown from the vehicle into a dirt yard. Deputies conducted a traffic stop around 11:55 p.m. at N. Roosevelt Street and Jagerson Avenue. Deputies contacted Paine, the driver, and questioned him about the thrown item. Paine advised that a water bottle containing alcohol was thrown. A records check showed Paine to have a suspended driver's license. Paine was taken into custody without incident. Deputies retrieved a pipe with residue from the dirt lot. During conversations with Paine, he admitted the marijuana pipe was thrown from his vehicle and it belonged to him. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
