Letter: Obama snuggling up to Muslims

Barack Hussein Obama, now proudly using the middle name he carefully tried to hide during his campaign, has now declared the United States might be a Muslim country. In an interview with France's Canal Plus released recently, he stated, "... one of the points I want to make is, is that if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we'd be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world." In Turkey, he recently said, "Americans do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation."

Mr. Obama is just wrong. And to state these outright lies is at the very least, worrisome. According to our founding documents, we were absolutely founded on Judeo Christian beliefs. Christianity, not deism, was practiced by nearly every founder and framer; the government was set up patterned after Israel and the Bible and most have agreed for hundreds of years we are Christian. More Americans are still Christian than any other religion. And nearly half of all Americans have a less than positive view of Muslim countries.

A comparison of the real facts: the U.S. has an estimated three to eight million Muslims, less than 1 percent of the world's total and less than at least 23 other countries. The average claim is about six million, and could be even less, but let's say it is six million. That would make it the 34th biggest Muslim country in the world. The president obviously is snuggling up to the Muslim world. Obama should consider this. Muslim belief is, if your father is Muslim, you are too. Obama supposedly became a Christian. In the Muslim faith, that is apostate and punishable by death. Just a fact.
