Thanks from Committee of Relay For Life

The Planning Committee of Relay For Life of Kingman 2009 would like to thank the community for the wonderful response to Relay For Life on June 6 to 7 at White Cliffs Middle School's Lee Williams Field.

Relay 2009 is a great success, raising over $91,000 by at 6 a.m. June 7. Teams and individuals can still raise money until August 31 to be credited to Relay For Life 2009.

Not only was our Relay a financial success, Kingman is the home of the first Hero of Hope recognized by The American Society's Great-West Division. A Hero of Hope is a cancer survivor who is selected through a long process to speak nationwide about their personal story with cancer and the programs that The American Society offers. The recipient of this honor is our own Joleen Goss.

We would like to thank our team captains for all their hard work. We would like to thank all of our participants, entertainment and anyone who donated in any way to our Relay.

We want to thank our sponsors: Wal-Mart, KRMC, Frontier, UniSource, Swire Coca-Cola, Aaron's, Chili's, Upton's Bed and Breakfast, Trinity Allergy and White Cliffs Middle School. Our unsung heroes are Rednecks Barbecue, Praxair, Home Depot, Arizona State Prison-Kingman, Fun For All Party Rentals, Lori Cronan, David Fish, Steve Engle, Jason Foose, Frontier Engineers and Southwest Hospitality. Also, Willie Walker, Girl Scout Troop No. 481, Sheriff Explorers, Jeremy Green, Cascade, Kingman Portable Toilets, Cindy Woods, Pat Groves, Liz and Donovan Durst, Lee's Uniforms and Embroidery, Brackett Aircraft. And, H&H Printers, Party Perfect, Rep. Doris Goodale, Kingman Community Concert Band, Cullin Patillo, Jon Ortman, Dave Morphew, Kelsey Plumb, Julie Wiggin, Waste Management, Cynthia Dickson, Mohave State Bank, Jim Gasteneau and all the volunteers in the CPS-3 tent. If we forgot anyone, we are truly sorry.

This just goes to prove the number of people who came together for this event and worked together to fight cancer. Relay is all about a community that takes up the fight, and Kingman proved that we are a community that cares and is willing to stand up and fight.

I personally would like to thank my Planning Committee, without whom there would not have been a Relay 2009: Cheri Smith, Joann Miracle, Diane Auman, Maggie Ihnen, Joleen Goss, Kat Fish, Pat Fish, Dolores Tyler, Brenda McElrath, Cindy Woods, Rozanne Feeney, Pat Farrel, Casey Farrel, Kim Walker, Debbi Smith, Ann White, Stacey Kelly, and Robin Robinson.

We look forward to a great Relay For Life of Kingman 2010, and invite everyone to help us celebrate, remember and fight back.

And we still have one question: Who do you know?

Robin Campbell/Event Chair,

Kingman
