Slocum makes a stop in Kingman on Saturday

KINGMAN - Hit Christian singer/songwriter and Curb Records recording artist Jamie Slocum is being featured as part of the 2009 KNLB Artist Spotlight Tour.

The tour will be making a stop in the Kingman area on Saturday. Slocum, a 2009 Dove Award-nominated artist will be performing songs from his five albums, including his latest album, "My Dependence."

His hit single, "Dependence," spent 11 weeks at No. 1 on the Christian music charts and was nominated for a 2009 Dove Award. Slocum was also nominated for Best New Artist of the Year at the 2009 Dove Awards.

Slocum's other No. 1 songs include "By Your Side" and "I Cannot Turn Away." He has also written a number of songs for prominent Christian artists, including Molly Rees, who also performs on the top-ten hit single "Different." Slocum was raised in the Phoenix area and now resides in Nashville, Tenn., where he produces his own music at Starstruck Studios.

The KNLB Artist Spotlight Concert will be hosted by Kingman Christian Church, 2830 Gordon Drive. Compact discs of Jamie Slocum's music will be available for purchase following the concert, which is free and open to the public. The concert begins at 7 p.m.
