Khan earns hospice, palliative care certification

KINGMAN - Kingman Regional Medical Center recently announced that Dr. Mahmood Khan has successfully earned his board certification in Hospice and Palliative Care from the American Board of Internal Medicine.

ABIM works to enhance the quality of health care by certifying internists and sub-specialists who demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attitudes essential for excellent patient care.

It is among the most prestigious certifying body in the United States. ABIM has recognized hospice and palliative care as a sub-specialty since 2007.

The first board certification exam was administered in the fall of 2008.

Khan is the medical director for KRMC's not-for-profit hospice program, which provides end-of-life care for individuals in Mohave County.

KRMC Hospice will be providing inpatient hospice services after completion of the Joan and Diana Hospice Home, scheduled for completion in late 2009.
