Lorna May (Roy) Eaton left this life on March 15, 2009, to enter her eternal home with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. Lorna was born March 14, 1935, in Stevensville, Mont., to Joseph and Bessie Roy. At the age of six weeks, the Roys returned with their baby daughter to their Kingman home where Lorna lived her entire life.
Lorna is survived by two daughters, Barbara Lynne Stevenson of Kingman and Betty Sue (Robert) Golden of Tennessee. She has two grandchildren, Kathy Lee and Christopher, also of Tennessee. Also surviving are her two brothers, Joseph (Betty) Roy and Daniel (Anita) Roy; and her sister, Sue Hallett, all of Kingman.
Lorna was widowed from Nathan Eaton in 1998 and made her home with her sister, Sue, for the last nine years of her life. She was a treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews and was active and loved by her Praise Chapel church family as well as many friends.
While cancer ultimately claimed her life, it could never claim her sweet spirit, and she bore her final illness with great courage, grace and dignity. Lorna's family wishes to thank Doctors Sahawneh and Parikh for their wonderful care, and especially Dr. Sharaf and the New Hope Hospice staff for their continual compassion, support and kindness. We also wish to express our gratitude to the staff at Desert Highlands Care Center who came to love Lorna and provided exemplary care during her last two months.
Our beautiful sister, mom, aunt and friend may be gone from our lives, but never from our hearts, and we'll see her again in Heaven.
Lorna's memorial service will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 27, at Praise Chapel, 419 Harrison, off Hualapai Mountain Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that contributions be made in Lorna's name to New Hope Hospice or Desert Highlands Activity Department.
