KINGMAN - Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET) detectives arrested Juan Javier Ortiz, 30, of Kingman Monday afternoon for possession of stolen property, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and an unlawful flight from law enforcement warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court, all felonies. Detectives observed a vehicle in the 3700 block of Lum Avenue matching the description of a reported stolen vehicle around 1:30 p.m. A computer check of the vehicle's license plate showed that the car was reported stolen. Shortly thereafter, detectives observed a male subject approach the vehicle. Detectives attempted to make contact, but he saw them and started running. He was apprehended after he climbed over a 6-foot-high fence. The man was identified as Ortiz. He was arrested without incident. A search allegedly revealed a glass pipe with residue and two plastic bags containing a crystal substance, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Ortiz was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
