Relay for Life golf tourney coming up this week

The Kingman Relay for Life American Cancer Society Golf Tournament will be Saturday. The format will be a four-person scramble, pick your own team. Cost will be $40 for members and $65 for non-members. Sign-in will be at 8 a.m., with a 9 a.m. tee-off. Please call the Pro Shop at (928) 757-8744 for further information.

Story Hour at Valle Vista Library is on a new day and at a new time: Friday, Sept.18 at 4:15 p.m. "Apple Fest @ Your Library" is the theme and will feature apple tasting fun, trivia and an apple print craft.

On Wednesday, Sept. 2, the Men's Club had 29 golfers play to a format of Individual Modified Stableford. There were many ties that were carded off. Here were the winners:

First, Nick Fix; second, Tom Groh; third, Elix Beale; fourth, Dave Collins; fifth, Len Druian; sixth, Bud McDonald; seventh, Butch Lewis; and eighth, Leo Jaramillo.

Closest to the pin went to Ron Lodge on Hole No. 2, Elix Beale on 7 and Len Druian on 11.

On Wednesday, Sept. 9, the Men's Club put 33 members on the course and played to a format of two-man scramble. The results were:

First, Butch Lewis and Dean Maryott - 57.160; second, Mike Back and Elix Beale - 58.120; third, Nick Fix and Ken Vandersloot - 58.800; and fourth, J.D.Jones and Dick Wade - 59.120.

Closest to the pin went to Lennie Busha on 2, Dean Maryott on 7, Ron Lodge on 11 and Dick Wade on 16.
