KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's Search and Rescue units responded Sunday to two stranded people in the Black Rock Mountains between Mesquite Nev., and St George, Utah. The reporting party said his friend of Las Vegas called him via a cell phone and said his vehicle was stuck in the snow. Search and Rescue Units from Kingman were deployed to the area around 4:30 p.m. and learned that the man and a 77-year-old Vegas woman went on a day trip to go hiking and didn't realize how much snow there was in the mountains. The man was traveling in a Toyota 4-Runner when the vehicle became stuck and surrounded by snow. SAR units located the stranded subjects and their vehicle around 4 a.m. The two were in good health and were brought to St George. SAR personnel recommends that individuals always inform a family member or friend of their travel plans.

KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Donald Clyde McClary, 52, of Valle Vista Monday for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon per domestic violence and disorderly conduct with a weapon, felonies. Deputies responded the night before to a report of two subjects fighting with loaded guns in the 7600 block of Monte Tesoro around 11 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies contacted both male subjects. One of the subjects, later identified as a 49-year-old victim, said that his roommate, McClary, wanted him to pack up his stuff and leave. The victim said McClary grabbed a handgun and went outside and fired the gun. The victim said McClary then came back inside, pointed the gun at his head and walked away. McClary was arrested without incident.
