Nineteen Kingman High Health Occupation of Students of America (HOSA) traveled to Tucson to compete in a state skills competition recently. Eight of these students placed in the top five in their respective categories. They were: Melanie Williams, fifth place in Clinical Nursing Skills; Taylor Campbell and Austin Cornell, fourth place in Forensic Medicine; Brooke Moore, fourth place in Sports Medicine; Natalie Casson and Jamie Robertson, first place in CERT team; Modjeska Hutchings, first place in Medical Spell Down; Modjeska, first place in Kaiser Permente Medical Current Event test; and Matt Dropulic, gold medal in Outstanding HOSA chapter. These students are now trying to raise funds to travel to Orlando, Fla., to represent the state of Arizona and demonstrate their skills on a national level. The national competition is June 23 -26. HOSA is a national career and technical education student organization that is sponsored by Carol Gunnerson and Jenny Harpest at Kingman High, and Christina Chuchura at Kingman Regional Medical Center.
